Real Estate Marketing Online: Idea for Blog Topic

One of the best ways to bring in more leads through your real estate marketing online is to blog a minimum of 2 times a week and preferably 3 times a week.

To assist you with this process, I’ll frequently post ideas for real estate blog topics. The topics will be geared to increase your opportunity to convert leads you get from your real estate marketing online.

Today’s idea can best be demonstrated by showing you an example of a real estate blog post on this topic: Sacramento Real Estate Gal’s post about buyers asking a variety of agents to show homes

How many times have you complained that home buyers simply do not remain loyal to you? Stop complaining and start educating. Tell them in your blog why it’s in their best interest to work exclusively with you as their Buyer’s Agent.

Your clients will appreciate it. Visitors to your blog will see you as the ethical, knowledgeable real estate agent you are.

Real Estate Marketing Online: Keep it Simple

Is your real estate marketing online too complicated? Do you want to streamline your real estate business? Ready to accelerate it? Make it simple.

Complex does not mean better.

Spending days on the “perfect” blog wording may actually hurt it.

By the time you find the perfect domain name, you could have had an entire website built.

As you hammered out the ideal postcard, you could have made 20 calls on expired listings.

Here’s what I know I can do…

  • Write (just about anything)
  • Give lead generating advice about real estate marketing online
  • Speak for instruction or motivation
  • Build relationships with clients and peers

That pretty much sums up my real estate marketing online business. Simple.

Outside of that I either outsource it or ignore it. I have no clue about programming or accounting. Everything has to be perfectly clear for me to move on it - and complex isn’t clear.

What about you?

Are you over complicating your real estate business?

Are you spending too much time trying to learn something that has a short lifespan or that someone else could do for you?

Invest most of your time in long-term assets related specifically to money making activities in your real estate business. What attributes and skills are going to serve you and others best over the long-haul?

If you want to take advantage of a short term fad without the uphill battle of education - then outsource it. (more…)

Real Estate Marketing Online and Offline: Both are Important

Increasingly, real estate agents are spending more money for real estate marketing online than for real estate marketing offline. That’s because they’ve read the stats that most home buyers (over 70%) are turning to the internet to search for homes.

I agree that as an agent you need to spend more money for real estate marketing online, but to completely stop marketing offline is a mistake.

Why?

Your Site Could Stop Bringing in Leads

Imagine that you’ve put all your marketing dollars into your website. Then something happens to your website. For example, I’ve seen all the following cause a website to no longer bring in leads:

  1. The agent forgot to renew his domain name so his site went down. (This happens more often than you want to know!) Even worse, when he tried to renew it someone else had already bought it.
  2. The company hosting the site went down.
  3. Google banned the site.
  4. The site’s ranking went way down in Google.

I know you think none of the above will ever happen to you. But why not insure yourself against website problems interrupting your steady flow of leads by continuing to do some offline marketing?

30% Still Shop for Real Estate Offline

I’m sure you have friends, relatives, clients and past clients who don’t know how to search for anything online. They may not even know how to turn on a computer!

Do you really want to ignore 30% of the population? No, you don’t! So, you still need to market to those folks offline.

Blog Topic to Get Real Estate Listing Leads

I want to share with you an example of a blog topic that you can easily write that will help you get real estate listing leads.

A North Phoenix agent recently wrote a blog post describing one of her typical days. She wrote this to demonstrate that she’s worth the money she’s paid to sell homes (and of course to help pull in some real estate listing leads.) To read the post click here: Real Estate Agents Make Too Much Money

This is a good idea for a blog post. As a successful real estate agent, you work very hard for your money. And, the majority of home sellers and home buyers have no concept of all you do to help them buy or sell a home.

I’m going to give you 3 suggestions on how to improve on this idea:

  1. Include how a buyer or seller benefits from the things you’re doing throughout the day. For example, instead of saying “Create and order 500 postcards” you might say “Create and order postcards marketing a new listing to 500 potential buyers.”
  2. A bit of personal information, as it relates to your job, is good, but too much or too negative isn’t. You want to be personable so the reader gets to know you, but you don’t want to tell them the sordid details of your life.
  3. Every few months, write another post like this describing a different type of day. In other words, vary the list of things you write about. This helps keep the posts a readable length. If a post is too long, no one will read the whole thing.

If you want to try writing a post like this for your blog, don’t be afraid — just do it. I’ll even review it for you for free. Add a comment to this post with a link to your blog post after you’ve written it. I’ll give you my suggestions on how to improve it.
